The only way to improve your coaching and gain comfort with the tools is through practice. We know this from personal experience. It's not about talent or natural born ability. Putting in the time and being willing to suck at it is what creates mastery.

There are a few tricks to leverage your coaching hours though. One is by listening to others coach. Another is by getting direct feedback from experienced coaches.

Pilots learn to fly using flight simulation tools. Flight simulators recreate the conditions of the flight environment, providing immediate feedback to the pilot in a safe environment. In Square One Flight School we re-create the conditions of a coaching session for you so that, like a flight simulator, you get to practice your square one coaching and gain immediate feedback from two master coaches in a safe and supportive environment.

The difference between a mediocre coach and a brilliant coach is one thing...PRACTICE. Malcolm Gladwell writes in his book, "The Outliers" that talent and natural born ability have very little to do with mastery. It's simply the hours you invest in your craft that creates your expertise.

We didn't create successful practices because we had some innate gift that only few possess, thank goodness! We instinctively knew that to be top notch coaches, we needed to coach, coach, coach and be coached. Both of us were willing to put our social selves aside, take risks and make mistakes (lots of them). We understood that playing it safe would never propel us to be the kind of coaches we wanted to be. If you are a coach in training, newly certified or trained in the "old school" Martha Beck weekend seminars, this intensive is for you.

Classes are 90 minutes long and will be recorded for participants.

It will focus only on Square One tools. (Plus a few more!) It is our experience and belief that newer coaches often feel overwhelmed when faced with a "kitchen sink" of tools. We believe that deep practicing in small, manageable chunks builds your confidence, coaching muscles and a successful practice. It's similar to math. You cannot learn multiplication and division until you had a solid foundation of adding and subtracting.

This six week intensive is everything we did as new coaches except no one offered us this program and we spent thousands of dollars more!
